These include displaying profile photos in the notifications, hiding last seen from specific contacts, and more. Without much waste of time, here is the list of 9 few upcoming features of WhatsApp expected to roll out in 2022.
1. Read Later:
Read Later is an improved version of the existing Archived Chats feature currently on WhatsApp. When you move a chat to read later, WhatsApp won't send notifications for that chat. Also, the feature will include a 'vacation mode' which will ensure that the read later chats work the same way as archived chats currently work on the stable version.
The read later feature will also come with an edit button for you to customise the settings. WhatsApp users will also be able to select multiple chats at once to quickly unarchive them.
2. Instagram Reels On WhatsApp:
WhatsApp is reportedly getting the Instagram Reels section. The feature will allow users to watch Instagram Reels directly from the WhatsApp messaging app. This could be a part of WhatsApp's integration plan with other apps in the Facebook family.
3. Message Reaction:
Soon, WhatsApp users will be able to react with emojis to WhatsApp messages, the same way as it is done on Instagram and Facebook. Dubbed 'Messages reaction', the feature which was first spotted by WABetaInfo allows users to react to a message using a total of 7 emojis.
Message reaction will be available in individual chat threads, and as well as group chats. Also, users can enable/disable the notifications for message reaction from the 'Reaction Notification' option.
4. WhatsApp Sent Message Deleting Time Limit Extended:
WhatsApp's new update will remove the time limit on sent messages and will allow users to delete sent messages anytime. Presently, WhatsApp allows you to delete sent messages within 1 hour. Once that time elapses, you won't be able to delete the messages.
5. WhatsApp Community Feature:
WhatsApp is adding a new Community function, where group admins will have more control over groups, similar to groups and channels on discord. Group admins will be able to create up to 10 groups, and as well, will be able to send messages to all at once.
6. WhatsApp Logout:
Another new feature coming to WhatsApp is called 'Logout'. This is expected to replace the 'Delete Account' button on WhatsApp. The feature is similar to that of Facebook and Instagram that allows users to log out of their accounts from their devices.
So on WhatsApp, users will be able to use their accounts on multiple devices at the same time.

Currently, WhatsApp allows users to hide their last seen from contacts. There are three options for users to choose from; Everyone, Only Contacts, and Nobody.
