This week, Google officially announced Android 12 during its I/O 2021 event, introducing an overhauled interface, better performance and power efficiency, more privacy, quick settings improvements, and a bunch of new features.
Though Google announced Android 12 this week, it didn't say when the OS will be generally available to Android users. We expect the new OS to be released between August and September, given how the OS has been released in the past; Android 11 came on Sept. 8, 2020, while Android 10 arrived on Sept. 3, 2019.
