The new Huawei Mate X2 adopts a design similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone..... a design many phone users prefer to the on the first Mate X device given how fragile flexible panels are.

The Huawei latest foldable device sports a 6.45-inch (2700 x 1160) OLED external display that comes with a 240Hz touch sampling, while on the inside is an 8-inch (2400 x 2200) OLED internal display that has a 180Hz touch sampling rate. Both panels support a 90Hz refresh.
Powering the device is Huawei's own Kirin 9000 octa-core chipset, paired with Huawei's Dual Big Core + Tiny Core, NPUs, 8GB RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
On the software side, the phone comes with EMIU 11 based on Android 10, but will be among the first device to be updated to Harmony OS in April. Still, the Huawei device won't have access to Google apps and services such as the Google Play Store, Gmail, YouTube, and more. In place of Google Play Store, Huawei has its own app store that houses different apps, and as well acts similar to Google Play Store.
In the camera department, there's a rear quad-camera setup that includes the main wide-angleOn the software 50-megapixel pixel sensor with OIS and an f/1.9 lens, alongside a 16-megapixel ultra-wide with f/2.2 aperture. One 12-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, OIS, and f/2.4 aperture, while an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor delivers 10x optical zoom, OIS, and f/4/4.

Unlike Samsung Fold 2 that has a punch hole on the internal display for a selfie sensor, the Mate X2 doesn't have such on the inside but on the external display. There is a hole punch on the external display on the Mate X2 housing an 8-megapixel selfie sensor.
The device will come with 4,500mah battery and will chargeusing Huawei superCharge adapter, supporting up to 55W 11V/5A.
Other features include Dual SIM, with one SIM slot for 5G and the other for 4G LTE. There is also WiFi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, etc.
The foldable device measures 4.4mm at its thinnest point when unfolded, or as little as 13.6mm when closed. It weighs 295 grams.
The Huawei Mate X2 yesterday (February 25) went on sale in China, and will be priced at RMB 17,999 (about $2,640) for the 256GB version and RMB 18,999 (about $2,780) for the 512GB model. For now, there isn't word if the device will be launched in markets outside China.
