The Indian government has banned 59 Chinese mobile application from being accessed or used in the country on the grounds of security national concerns.
Then ban come following the clash with Chinese forces in Ladakh in Northern India, on June 15, this year, which resulted in the death of 20 soldiers and over 75 injured.
According to the Indian government, the 59 apps have been used to harvest data on Indian users and then send back to servers hosted in China.
"In view of the emergent nature of threats," a government press release read. "[the government] has decided to block 59 apps since in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order."
