Unicode Consortium, the guys whose job is to develop and maintain the Unicode standard, last week announced the Emoji 13.1 following the delay of Emoji 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to developments shared by Emojipedia, which is a voting member of the Unicode Consortium, the new emojis introduced in Emojis 13.1 include Face in Clouds, mending Heart, Face with Spiral Eyes, Face Exhaling, and Heart on fire.

A new gender option for the bearded emoji has been added which includes a bearded person, bearded man, and a bearded woman, with all the skin tones. Also, skin tone support for various couple emojis has also been added.
Every year, the Unicode Consortium releases a set of emojis and this year, Emoji 13 was released in March after being announced in January. The release of Emoji 13.1 has been scheduled for October this year.
As per the blog post, the new emojis will likely show up by March 2021 and could possibly be implemented between September and November 2021.
For Emoji 14, it was supposed to be released in March 2021 due to delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic, they were delayed by 6 months and will now debut in September, and will then be implemented in 2022. The release of Emoji 13.1 will cover up for the void that would have been caused by no emojis in 2021.
