Facebook's has released a TikTok-inspired app called Collab for creating short music videos. The app which is in a beta state is being tested by Facebook's New Product Experiment (NPE) team and is for now available for iOS users alone via invitation.

"Today, the NPE team from Facebook is announcing an invite-only beta of Collab, a new iOS app that brings together creators and fans to create, watch, and mix and match original videos, starting with music," NPE said in a blog post.

The Collab app works in a similar way to TikTok and allows users to sync existing videos from the platform. However, users on this platform can sync three videos simultaneously instead of two as it is on TikTok.

"Once you've created a Collab, you can publish it for others to watch and mix and match further," NPE said on its website. "You can also share yours or others' creation to Instagram, Facebook Stories, or any other platform, with just a few taps."

For now, it isn't clear if the Collab app will require non-users to watch videos of users without signing up for on the app similar to TikTok.

As stated before, the app is available as an invite-only beta for iOS users. You can visit this link to join the wait list and here to join the private beta group on Facebook.

The Facebook app will be opening up invites in batches to users, starting with those from US and Canada.
