Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi, yesterday released the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro Max in India. The devices comes with nice specs and the company hopes it to kill competition from Oppo's sub-brand Realme.
The Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro Max both sports a 6.67-inch 1080p LCD DotDisplay and are both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. They also come with a 5,020mAh battery size, though the Note 9 supports an 18W charger while the Note 9 Pro Max supports a faster 33W charger.
Design wise, its difficult to tell the difference as the two phones features Xiaomi's 'Aura Balance' design and are aesthetically identical. Two device differs on the price and a few configuration.
The Note 9 comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM LPDDR4x configuration, while the Note 9 Pro Max comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM LPDDR4x. Both comes with 64GB and 128GB internal storage UFS 2.1 which can be expanded via microSD to support up to 512GB.
Aside the RAM and charging speed, one other thing that differentiates the Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max are the cameras.
Though the two Redmi devices sport a quad-camera setup at the rear, the sensors aren't the same. The Note 9 Pro comes with a higher resolution 64MP primary camera and a 32MP camera that supports pixel binning. On the Note 9 Pro, there is a 48MP primary shooter and a 16MP selfie camera which doesn't support Pixel binning. Let's look at the complete specs.

The Note 9 Pro will go on sale on March 17, while the Note 9 Pro Max will go on sale on March 25 via mi.com, amazon.in and other Xiaomi offline stores in India. For now, there is no word on when the device will make it out to other markets.
