Google Lens Crosses 50 Million Installs On The Play Store

Google Lens app has crossed 50 million installs on the Google Play Store, joining the list of apps on the Play Store tat has achieved that milestone.

Initially launched as an exclusive feature for Pixel devices during Google's I/O 2019, the Google app was later released as a standalone app for Android running Marshmallow and above. The app also made its way to iOS users via the Google Photos app.

Google Lens is used for searching for information via pictures or screenshots and so we won' be wrong to call it the visual search engine.

The app can also be used to take photos of write-up that are in other languages and then translate them. It can also be used to read restaurant menus and calculate bill tips. 

For Android users, there's an active Lens icon in the Assistant, Pixel camera, Google Photos and the native Google app screenshot editor. The Lens icon is even present in some Android's device native camera app.
