Huawei's new mobile operating system HongMeng is reportedly said to be 60% faster than Google's Android operating system, Global Times reports.
According to the news source, companies like Xiaomi, Vivo and OPPO who currently make use of the Android mobile operating system provided by Google on smartphones they manufacture, have all sent out test teams to Huawei to try out HongMeng OS.
Global Times says the test teams claimed that Huawei's new mobile OS is 60% faster than the existing Android.

However, since there is no confirmation on this or the results on how the speed was measured, we will only take it with a pinch of salt.
HongMeng OS is said to support all Android applications and web apps, and as well will come with increased options for the protection of personal data.
Huawei has been in the news for the past month following the ban by the US that restricts it from working with US tech companies. This ban also restricts Huawei from accessing the Android operating system which is made by a US company.
In turn, Huawei has unveiled its own operating system called HongMeng to stay in business. In fact, the Chinese tech giant has began to trademark the new operating system in Europe, Canada, South Korea and other countries around the world.
The Chinese tech giant is also said to have shipped over 1 million smartphones with the HongMeng OS installed on the devices.
Industry analysts believes that Google's supply cut to Huawei might only hurt the Chinese tech company for a short period of time, of which the company will be forced to reduce reliance on foreign technologies from companies like Google.
In turn, Huawei will reshape the software market dominated by US tech companies.
Though the US government has eased the ban on Huawei, giving it a 90-day period until August to trade with US tech companies, Google is however, lobbying for an Android exemption from the Android ban, arguing that the ban on Huawei will raise national security risks to the US.
Huawei is also said to be encouraging app developers to use its own AppGallery so as to provide an alternative to the Google Play Store.
