In a move to unify WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allow users of the platform share status update with images, GIFs, videos, and text as a Facebook Story.
According to WABetainfo, the new feature which is called "Add to Facebook Story" has a button in the status section that allow users to easily share their status updates to Facebook as a story.

The new feature is said to be a part of WhatsApp beta version 2.19.151 for Android and isn't available for public access.
Another thing that came with the WhatsApp beta version 2.19.151 is the ability to share contacts information via QR code, similar to Instagram's Nametag feature, Snapcode on Snapchat and how people share their profiles on LinkedIn app. WhatsApp began to test this feature sometime last year on iOS, and has now brought it to the Android platform.
The QR code button can be found in your profile section. Tapping on the QR Code icon reveals your personal QR Code that can be shared to other WhatsApp users to easily add you to their contacts list. Users can also be added when their QR code is scanned using the Camera feature on WhatsApp.
This new feature will also aid WhatsApp Business users to share their QR Codes directly on their websites, apps, social media platforms and other channels.
WhatsApp also allow users to revoke the QR code so as to replace it with a new one, or just to completely disable the feature.
Early this year, Facebook said it planned to unify WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram to merge chats so as to break down communication barriers among users of the social platforms.
For now, there is no word on when the feature will be rolled out to the general public since its still being tested.
