Last month, Samsung put a halt on the distribution of the Galaxy Foldable device after the test units that were sent to tech reviewers had a bad outing.
Samsung decided to postpone the launch of the device after not one, two but four reviewers experienced screen failures with the foldable devices.
Right now, the South Korean electronics giant isn't sure when it will resolve the issue, or when it will even begin the shipment of the much anticipated device.
According to a Tweet shared by Brandon Lee of This is Tech Today, Samsung is sending out emails to customers that pre-ordered for the device, telling them that no shipping date has been fixed, and that orders will automatically cancel if they don't opt-in to keep their orders.
The mail made it clear that the Galaxy Fold won't be shipped this month, and that orders will automatically cancel after May 31. In fact, Samsung even went on to say that you can still cancel your pre-order even if you opt-in to receive the phone after May 31.I just received an email update on the Samsung Galaxy Fold. No update on the relaunch of the device, which isn't the most reassuring sign.— M. Brandon Lee | THIS IS TECH TODAY (@thisistechtoday) May 7, 2019
The most interesting thing to note is that you have to OPT-IN to keep your order or it will automatically cancel. Also, not a good sign pic.twitter.com/ZkOmlO0tFj
We hope Samsung eventually resolve the issue on time to clear all the negative talks surrounding the once prided "future device".
