Samsung Galaxy A80 Launched With AMOLED Infinity Display, Rotating Cameras And Snapdragon 730G

Yep! Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A80 device in Thailand as earlier announced. The Galaxy A80 which falls under the A-series for mid-end devices isn't a mid-end at all but high-end.

The device sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080) New Infinity Super AMOLD display with 20:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is Qualcomm latest Octa core Snapdragon 730G SoC (2.2GHz Dual + 1.8GHz Hexa) with Adreno 618 GPU.

In built storage capacity is 128GB and the device will run on 8GB of RAM, Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI. There's a 3700mAh battery that supports 25W super fast charging and an in-display fingerprint scanner.


Apart from the latest Snapdragon 730 SoC which is one of the main selling point, the absence of a bezel or notch of any form is another attraction. The device has a rotating camera module that serves as the rear and selfie camera.


The triple rear camera setup includes a 48MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, secondary, 8-megapixel 123° ultra wide-angel lens and a 3D Depth camera for Live focus by scanning objects for measurement and depth.

When the user of the phone wants to take a selfie, the camera pops up from behind the phone and then rotates so as to take the selfie.

Others include Dual SIM, Dolby Atmos, USB Type-C, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, 165.2 x 76.5 x 9.3mm dimension, 3D glass body with a metal frame.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 comes in Angel Gold, Ghost White and Phantom Black colours, and will be sold for 649 Euros (about $729).
