Facebook Messenger's Dark Mode feature is now available worldwide for all Messenger users. No need to send a moon emoji to one of your contacts to activate the feature.
The social media giant began to roll out the feature early March as an Easter Egg. At the initial stage, the feature wasn't available to users in all regions. To activate the Dark Mode feature, Messenger users had to send the crescent moon emoji to someone using the Messenger app. Facebook said it would eventually roll it out as an official settings, which it just did.
"Messenger's dark mode provides lower brightness while maintaining contrast and vibrancy," the social media giant said in a blog post. "Dark mode cuts down the glare from your phone for use in low light situations, so you can use the Messenger features you love no matter when or where you are."
To activate the Dark Mode feature, the Messenger user is to tap on his or her profile picture in the Messenger app to get to the settings. From the settings, the user will then enable Dark Mode. When you enable Dark Mode, your Messengers white traditional interface will then change to black.
