Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced at the F8 that WhatsApp will be getting new features which includes group calling and stickers.
The Sticker Reaction feature is being tested on Android WhatsApp beta version 2.18.189, though the feature and other sticker related features are disabled by default.
According to WABetainfo, WhatsApp is only testing the stickers feature only on the Android beta app on version 2.18.120. For now, the feature is disabled for development reasons though it will be enabled in the next release.
These stickers will arrive in packs same way it is on Messenger, and will require data for download. The report says the stickers will be segregated into four reaction categories which are: LOL, Love, Sad and WOW. The sticker button will be enabled next to the GIF button to give users the option to send stickers as well in the future.
For now, the stickers button can't be seen even in the beta app as currently, its been disabled by default.
Another feature that Facebook also announced at the F8 is whatsApp's support for group video calling. This feature can be accessed in the latest Android beta updates which are v2.18.189, v2.18.192 and v2.18.193.
Some time back in May, select Android and iOS users received the group calling functionality on iOS beta v2.18.52 and beta v2.18.145 for Android. In addition to this, there are news speculating that Windows Phone too has received the group voice and video calling features.
