Following a ban in Russia, the chief executive of Telegram messenger service, Pavel Durov has said that the application will use built-in systems to bypass the ban placed on the messaging application in Russia on Friday.
A Russian court had on Friday placed a ban on the privacy focused encrypted messaging application due to its refusal to cooperate with Russian intelligence in allowing it access to users message.
According to the Telegram chief who wrote on his page on VK social network, Pavel said he couldn't guarantee that Telegram users in Russia will retain access to the messenger without using virtual private networks (VPNs).
The Telegram Chief has made it clear in the past that his company would not hand over encryption keys to Russian authorities nor any government or group of persons.
The ban on Telegram which has over 200 million users worldwide came a week after Russia's state communication watchdog filed a lawsuit to limit access to Telegram after the company refusal to coooperate.
Telegram has gained popularity in Russia and this ban will affect scores of users including governement officials.
