A Twitter user has shared a link that freezes iOS and macOS devices, and even restart it when the link is sent in a text.
Dubbed the ChaiOS bug, the link points to a page of code on GitHub. When the receiver clicks on the link, Apple's Message app goes nuts which then led to the entire device crashing
.
Other bugs similar to ChaiOS have struck Apple in the past. Some time in 2013, an Arabic string characters was found to kill applications in OS X and iOS 6.
In 2015, another bug called the "Effective Power" bug allowed anyone to remotely reboot iPhones by using a special sequence of characters.
