Facebook has confirmed that it is currently testing a new temporary profile status feature that allows its users to time it when to self destruct.
This new status feature which allows Facebook users to post text-only updates of up to 101 characters looks similar to the earlier days of Facebook when users could post just status updates instead of videos, links and other things you see today.
Confirming the new feature, a Facebook spokeperson told BuzzFeed that Facebook users have the option to choose if they want their status whether or not to appear in News Feed or only on their profile.
"We 're testing an update that lets people set a temporary status on their profile to let friends know what they 're doing or feeling in the moment. People have the option to set an expiration date for the status and choose whether or not it appears in News Feed or any on their profile."
