Accounts numbering over 1.1 Million on Supercell, developers of Clash Of Clans, Clash Royale, Boom Beach and Hay Day have been hacked, Supercell said.

According to an official statement released by the developer of these popular games on the site forum, Supercell said that the breach occurred in September last year and only affected their community forum service and that the game accounts weren't compromised.
Supercell further stressed that they do take data breaches quite seriously and would follow strict policies to ensure that users data are kept safe. They further advised users to change the password of all their accounts.
Hacked data included email IDs, usernames, hashed passwords and ip addresses.
Cause of the Hack?
Report says that Supercell uses an outdated vBulletin forum software which tend to easily being hacked because of its use of hashing passwords in a way that makes it easy for hackers to decipher them.

Top forums such as Grand Theft Auto (GTA), EpicGames, PakWheels, Clash of Kings and other forums previously suffered such fate for also using an outdated version of vBulletin software.
