Over the past years, Apple and Samsung have fought in and outside the court, pointing accusing fingers at each other over product and design imitation. Well lately, the Samsung note 7 device which seems to rival the iPhone 7 began to overheat and explode at will which made Samsung to stop its production and sale.
Samsung's decision to end the Galaxy note7 device production made us think that would be the end to "the exploding episode" but how wrong!. Apple seems to have taken over.
A Chinese media today reported an iPhone 7 exploded while the owner was using the iPhone to record a video. GizmoChina reports that flying glasses from the iPhone screen injured the man in the face. Apple is yet to issue a statement but local media claims that the iPhone owner has been in touch with local Apple sales team.
6ABC also reported another explosion that occurred this month. This time it was an iPhone 6 plus that exploded in a student back pocket.
“I felt this crazy, hot burning in my leg,” Darin Hlavaty said.
“Right as class was starting, my phone started smoking in my pocket. It
was a fire.” He continued, “It was super hot, so I flinched, grabbed it,
threw it on the ground. Had to kick it because it was on fire.”
Darint told 6ABC that the phone’s battery was dead and it was not plugged in. The incident happened during his 9:30 AM physical science class. By the time the fire department arrived the fire was out, but there was still a strong smell of smoke in the classroom.
“I’ve had it for about six months. The only thing that was wrong with it was a simple crack, but I don’t see a simple crack causing it to blow up in my pocket,” he said.
Another iPhone explosion episode took place this same month which left a cyclist with painful burns. Gareth Clear, 36 who was out cycling on Sunday near Sydney, Australia, fell from his bike when he his iPhone burst out melting to onto his skin.
“I suddenly saw this incredible plume of smoke,” Gareth told the Daily Mail. "And there was a searing pain that went along with it - as though someone had pushed a huge block of ice against my leg.
“The phone was stuck to my leg having melted through both my shorts and my Skins. It had to have been more than 100 degrees.”
Yvette Estrada, Another iPhone user too complained to Apple that her iPhone had burst into flames in their California home in Fresno, damaging a dresser as well as a pair of glass and two Apple Watch stands. A user on reddit also complained how his iPhone 7 device exploded during transit. So many are the complaints that i cant keep mentioning them in just a single post.
I hope apple takes preventive measure to help remedy the situation before it gets out of hand.
