The long rumoured Android and Chrome OS merger is here and according to Android Police, Google may demo the OS on October which is next month. Code named Andromeda, the OS is expected to be launched on the 4th of next month.
The rumoured merger got much attention when Hiroshi Lockheimer, senior vice president of Android, Chrome OS, and Google Play at Google tweeted on his twitter handle,
We announced the 1st version of Android 8 years ago today. I have a feeling 8 years from now we'll be talking about Oct 4, 2016.— Hiroshi Lockheimer (@lockheimer) September 24, 2016
A merger between Android and Chrome OS might change the way in which our phones and laptops interacts which is very good. Last year the Wall Street Journal said that Google was to merge the two operating systems but a final version would not be available until 2017, though they said that a preview would be available in 2016.
